Free is the whole app,
not a trial

Also the most direct way to keep an indie app running.
Same Plus, billed monthly. Prefer not to commit to a year? Start here and cancel any time.
- Everything in LitList Plus — identical features, no limits
- Unlimited Picked For You, Mood Match and Theme search
- Every stats card template, Year in Review and Compare Years
- Unlimited challenges and family profiles
- All three app themes
- Switch to annual any time from your app store subscriptions
Monthly helps too — every subscription keeps the servers on.
One person builds this
LitList isn't backed by anyone. There's no team, no investors, no growth deadline. Which means the two normal ways an app like this makes money — ads, or selling reading data to whoever's buying — were off the table from the start.
So the deal is simple. The tracking is free because everyone deserves a decent place to keep their books. Plus pays for the servers, the book data, and the hours. That's it. That's the whole business model.
If free covers everything you need, use it free and don't think twice — that's genuinely the point. But if LitList has earned its spot on your home screen and you want it to still be here next year, Plus is the most direct way to make that happen.

About billing
What happens to my books if I cancel?
Nothing. Your library, journal, quotes, ratings, tropes and reading history all stay exactly as they are — those were never the paid part. You drop back to the free tier's limits on the extras (stats card templates, challenges, family profiles), and you can still export everything at any time.
Where do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Through your app store, not through LitList — Apple and Google handle the billing. On iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On Android: Play Store → profile → Payments and subscriptions. Cancelling there stops the renewal and Plus stays active until the end of the period you've paid for.
Is the price in Canadian dollars?
The listed $5.99/month and $34.99/year are CAD. Your app store converts to local pricing, so the exact figure you see depends on your store region and local taxes.
Will free features move behind the paywall later?
No. The free tier is a commitment, not a stage. Tracking your books, your journal, your quotes, your buddy reads and your data export stay free. New features may launch as Plus features, but nothing that's free today gets taken away.
I have a code from a creator. Where does it go?
In the app: Profile → Redeem a code. Creator codes grant Plus for a set number of days with no card and no auto-charge — when the time is up, you simply drop back to free.
Can I support without subscribing?
Yes, and it genuinely helps. Rate the app in the store, tell one reader friend, or post a bug or an idea on the community board. For an indie app, a real review from a real reader moves more than a subscription does.
Start free. Decide later.
You can use LitList for years without paying anything. That's on purpose.
